Locating WordPress Login URL
In order to access your WordPress login URL, all you need to do is add /wp-admin/ or /wp-login.php to the end of your WP site’s URL.
For example:
https://mysite.com/wp-admin/
or
https://mysite.com/wp-login.php
Logging into subfolder or subdirectory and subdomain also takes the same process. You have to add /wp-admin/ or /wp-login.php to the end of your WP site’s URL.
If your WordPress is installed in a sub folder or subdirectory, below is how to access WordPress login page:
Example:
(Suppose the name of your subfolder is ‘blog’ and WP site URL is https://mysite.com/blog/)
https://mysite.com/blog/wp-admin/
or
https://mysite.com/blog/wp-login.php
If your WordPress install is on a subdomain, you can go to the WordPress admin login URL as shown in the example below.
Example:
(If the name of your subdomain is ‘blog’ and WP site URL is https://blog.mysite.com)
https://blog.mysite.com/wp-admin/
or
https://blog.mysite.com/wp-login.php/
Well, this is how you can locate the WordPress login URL. Now, enter the login link in your browser’s address bar which will take you to WordPress login page as shown below. Next, insert your WP username and password and click on login.
This will ultimately take you to the WordPress admin area from where you can add a theme, plugins, change settings, add pages, posts, media, and customize everything.
How to Remember Your WP Login URL?
In case you are forgetful or can’t remember how to find the login URL, you may need to save the link somewhere easily accessible to you anytime. The easiest thing you can do is bookmark the admin login URL in your browser.
Besides, you can add your WP login link on your WordPress site navigation menu, sidebars or footer. And the process of doing so is really easy; it takes just a few steps.
Adding WordPress Login Link to Navigation Menu
- Go to Appearance> Menus
- Create a new menu or select an existing menu on your site for adding a custom link
- Click on Custom Links to expand it. Then, add your site login link (e.g. https://mysite.com/wp-login.php in the URL field and ‘Login’ in the Link Text field and click on ‘Add to Menu’.
- Then, save menu.
Now, preview your WP site front-end. You can see a menu ‘Login’ added to your WP site as shown in the image below.
Adding WordPress Login URL to the Sidebar or Footer
You can add WordPress login link to the sidebar or footer area in your front-end website using the meta widget. Meta widget adds a link to the login page, RSS feeds and to WordPress.org.
In order to add the meta tag to WordPress sidebar or footer, follow the given steps:
- Go to Appearance > Widgets
- Local Meta widget in the available widgets and drag the widget to either sidebar or footer as per your wish.
Now, if you check the front-end of your WP site, you’ll see the WP login link, RSS feeds and link to WP.org added on your site.
